Check out our first-ever Annual Report to the Community!

We are thrilled to release our first-ever annual report, sharing key data points, successes and lessons learned from the 2017-18 school year.

“We made tremendous progress in the first year, but we know there is still work to do,” Executive Director Shiloh Turner said. “We are excited to launch an annual report to share data from the first year, as we work to grow this school year.”

The report also includes a letter from Carolyn Jones, Cincinnati Public School Board of Education President, and Michael J. Graham, Cincinnati Preschool Promise Board of Managers Chair. In the letter, they explore how far our community has come since Cincinnati Preschool Promise started over 5 years ago.

“Five years ago, you believed in Cincinnati Preschool Promise when it was just a dream,” the letter reads. “You shared the vision with friends, family and colleagues, building momentum and support. In 2016, you walked in parades, knocked on doors and volunteered. You voted in record numbers. And now we are excited to celebrate our first year successes with you, as well as a glimpse into what this work means for the long term success of our children, families and city.”

The report provides great insight into the students served, progress made, and room to grow. Some highlights:

  • 1,341 students were served with tuition assistance dollars during the 2017-18 school year
  • 5 local community preschools increased their Step Up to Quality star levels through our quality improvement program
  • We crossed operational milestones for our new organization, including a full staff and 501c3 status.

But perhaps our favorite part of the report are the stories shared by a family and provider about the impact Cincinnati Preschool Promise made for them last year.

“There is no way he would have started kindergarten off on the right foot had it not been for the Cincinnati Preschool Promise. It was really beneficial for my family financially. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have been able to afford preschool.”
