Teacher Promise Grant Participants ONLY
This 2-hour Ohio approved training is designed to help early childhood educators explore classroom
books that promote a positive sense of identity. When children see characters of their own race and
gender in a positive light it allows for a deeper comprehension of the text because they are able to
make self connections. Research shows that when children value their own identity, it helps them
grow into more confident and accepting adults.
